I actually have a couple of their cheaper 10"s and one of their amps in my truck and was pretty impressed with the quality. Plus after seeing the quad 18's project I linked I figured I'd give them a shot. I tend to be a repeat customer once I find a company I do some good business with. Though it's not set in stone. I won't be doing the sub build for quite a while so plenty of time to research others as well.
I guess to turn your question around, why those particular drivers over the eD?-Chuck- Bottom

Well the Maelstorm because its got 33mm of Xmax. I guess the ED isn't bad though I'm just wondering about mechanical noise and what not as they are mostly intended for car use. I know the Maelstorm and Tempest-X has very very low motor noise and quite low distortion. Kevin has video's posted on his site so you can hear them.- Bottom

By that I mean, I'd like the DIY community to offer input on each definition to expand and clarify...-

by oneoldudeHi all,
I have been working with EdL (thanks Ed) for the last couple weeks in preparing to measure some DIY WGs for use with non-compression drivers. That is, the tweeters will be standard off-the-shelf dome tweeters. Ed has turned some examples and sent them to me. Soon I will be doing...-

by JonMarshTimes come and go, and sometimes things we cherish fade away. But HT Guide is not one of them, thanks to the continuing efforts of Sven Rajala!
Given my "brief" history with the forum, I have a lot of perspective on that...

by mynI'm in the need of decent front speakers and I have been exploring the DIY market.
I was convinced on the audioreview DIY project that costs around $200 all in for the parts + enclosure but a friend told me to check out this forum first.
I've been reading several posts...-
