    Problem with Sony receiver

I have a Sony STR-DE975, and the right front channel sounds like it isn't being amplified, or at least not nearly as much as the left channel. Everything else seems to be fine, but there's a huge hole in my sound

Any ideas what might be causing it? Seems odd to only lose one channel.

Any good sites I should visit??

Any sites out there that might offer good troubleshooting guides for this type of equipment?

Check the balance control, and your speaker level settings.

If those don't help, try swapping speaker wires (left to right and right to left) to see if it's in the receiver or the speaker/wiring.

If it's in the receiver, and it's out of warranty, chuck it and get a Denon, Yamaha, Rotel, ... although Sony makes some nice stuff, the DE-series receivers don't cut it IMHO.

        Already did all that...

It's gotta be in the receiver. I've done about all the easy troubleshooting I can do. I've bought another receiver to get things back up and running, but wouldn't mind fixing this so I can sell it or have it as a spare. I don't mind getting down to the board level for repair, but would need a little "guidance" on what to look at

I have two friends that both have had the 975qs, It seems that after the 1080qs everything went down hill big time for the qs, both the qaulity and price have gone down.

If you like the qs series, then it might be worth changing to an earlyer qs, anything from the old 940 to the 1080.

            Blown left channel (RB-1080)?
            by rotel&energy
            Hey guys,

This is my first post in a long time, and unfortunately I'm going to open up an old issue - blown left channels on RB-1080s. I've had my 1080 for over 2 years, using the 12 volt trigger, without any problems. Just the other night, I came into the family room and noticed I...

New RB-1080 and no left channel!
            by rotel&energy
Today was supposed to be a happy day. I was supposed to take delivery of my subwoofer (FedEx didn't show) and I was supposed to start enjoying my new RB-1080. Well, neither happened!

I hooked the 1080 up correctly, powered everything on and got music out of the right channel, but not...

            Menu issue with Sony receiver
            by Philo
I just bought a Sony Receiver 1200ES and I am having trouble getting the menu on the TV screen.
I have it hooked up via the HDMI ports and everything is working except the Menu page of the Sony.
Are you able to get the menu up through the HDMI connections, or can you only access it through...

Hi guys, yes, it's pure frustration

RDV1060 broken again for the 3rd time in over 4y. Has been sitting with Rotel Hong Kong for 6.5 weeks now; apparently they are still waiting for the parts from London.

RMB1075 problems with right surround speaker. Sitting with Rotel Hong...

RB-1080 no sound on left channel
            by tomasito
            Hello,
I m new to the forum. But I had my RB-1080 for 3 years now. Last night, I notice that the left channel has no sound.
I had this issue before earlier in the year. Rotel told me to check the fuse of the left channel. It was blown, and I replace the fuse. It fix the problem.
