I need help with my RCA A/v reciever

Hi this is my first post. I have a RCA A/v reciever (RT2280), I am trying to connect a Samsung DVD-recorder (DVD-R120). I have a sylvania television, with a Scientific Atlanta cable box. My Dvd-recorder can not read the channels from my cable box. Does anyone have any suggestions? if anyone has questions ask about what I'm talking about. (I am not a very good with entertainment systems.)

    Any help is great,
    Samantha

Check your connections on the DVD Recorder and ensure you are connected to the cable box not through the TV, (output of the cable box to the inputs of the DVD Recorder). Check your settings on your DVD recorder to check your source recording. Read you manual especially the trouble-shooting guide, there are usually quick solutions for issues. Hopefully, others will chime in here to offer further advice.

    Good luck,

    Azeke

Are your cable channels scrambled or unscrambled ? If the latter is the case, your DVD recorder will not read the channels, only receive the signal from the channel that is selected on the cable box at the given time.

I want to make a subwoofer cable with a RCA connector and a 1/4 mono plug. I am planning to use a old MonsterBass™ 300 Subwoofer cable and use the one of the RCA on it and cut an end off and solider a 1/4 mono plug on the other end. Now the question is what a good 1/4 mono plug that will fit on this...

Weird ticking noise with DVD Recorder & Cable Service
        by Glen B
I just purchased a Toshiba DVD recorder/VCR combination which is hooked up to a digital cable box, primarily so that I can time shift programs. Whenever the unit is in DVD mode and I switch channels on the cable box, there is an annoying, rapid "ticking" noise that occurs during the couple...

        The J-Box III Review

The J-box is a device that I’ve often looked at on AliExpress, but I don’t see much or any talk about it really on DIY forums, not English speaking ones anyway. It looked quite interesting to me as an all-in-one measurement system; the poor man’s alternative to...

ViewSonic PJ501 Out of the box review

I went out to Now Audio Video one evening to look at progressive scan DVD players, thinking maybe I'd find something I liked. So, I rolled in the store right at 8:00 PM, thinking I had 1 hour to look. I didn't know 9 months ago they changed their store hours to close at 8! GRRR. They did unlock the...
