I just purchased a Toshiba DVD recorder/VCR combination which is hooked up to a digital cable box, primarily so that I can time shift programs. Whenever the unit is in DVD mode and I switch channels on the cable box, there is an annoying, rapid "ticking" noise that occurs during the couple of seconds it takes for the channel to change 
. This noise does not occur when the unit is in VCR mode. The new unit is replacing another DVD recorder, with which I never had this noise problem. Does anybody have an ideas about what might be causing this noise ?
