Frequency Range of SeeDee vs LP

Well some things to mention, he doesn't take into account distortion and what not, also some CD's have better dynamic range and some worse, it depends on the mastering. Not dissing his findings, there certainly are some LP's where the CD counterpart is much worse in dynamic range, but there are some LP's out there where the CD has more dynamic range. It's all about the mastering. SeeDee as you call it is on it's way out the door for the most part anyways, and with digital downloads we really don't have a limit on space and what not, so it just comes down to standards. Either way still an interesting video.- Bottom

Quoted from the source who provide me the link:
"The video is a very simple demonstration of the beyond 20kHz content that vinyl captures, but Redbook fails time and time again to get right. Loudness wars put more nails in the coffin".- Bottom

And some have shown they are preferred:
From the Oohashi Report:
[the] study by Tsutomu Oohashi et al.,[3] which supports the idea that although humans cannot consciously hear ultrasound (sounds at frequencies above approximately 20 kHz), the presence or absence of those frequencies has a measurable effect on their physiological and psychological reactions. Attempts to independently reproduce these results have so far been unsuccessful.- Bottom

by DrJRappI have a handful of friends that are making a retro journey back to vinyl as a source medium. As an engineer who understands the technical limitations of that medium I see the limitations such as dynamic range, limited frequency response and much higher noise floor, not to mention the clicks and pops... -

by XanderHey,
I am planning another speaker build for summer. I built the sealed CJD RS150 MTMs (with Seas H1212 tweeters) a couple years ago, and love them. I began doing freelance recording and mixing a year ago and have been using these as my main monitors with great results. I use 4 IB15s...-
