Suitable cable for connecting notebook to receiver?

Our notebook has only analog output. The suitable cable for connecting our notebook to the receiver is "stereo Rca" I think. The problem is,I think this cable has two edges at both sides but the notebook has only 1 audio connector?

Usually a stereo minijack at one end, splitting out to dual RCA at the other, like this:

Find one at the level of cable quality you prefer.

      Thanks for your answer.

What should I say to the store employee shortly(or should I describe it like you described?)

I would recommend getting an apple airport express (even a used one for cheap).

plug the airport express into an outlet near your receiver and get an optical cable to feed your receiver. Control the airport from itunes on your laptop.

Believe it or not, the airport express is bit-perfect so you'll have no quality loss whatsoever. If you want even better quality you can buy an external dac like the musical fidelity V-DAC an put that inline and now you have the quality of a $1000+ CD player.

The whole project should cost $50-$70 at most. (before external DAC)

          so you need:

          used airport express:

          this optical cable:

          optional DAC like:
Oh dear, something has gone wrong. Here's a couple of things to try next to get back to the good stuff... Use your browser's 'Back' button and...
Marantz SR5002 (music fed by apple airport express via optical)
rotel RB-985 THX (4 channels bipowering fronts, 1 for the center)
          B&W - 683, CDM-CNT, CDS3 (sides), DM601 (rears)
a combo of haveflex and audioquest cables.

So spend $50-$70 and have to live with Apple iTunes (which may be good or bad, depending on your opinion)...

Or spend about $5 to $10 on the cable...

              hmmm.

are you serious, why are you even on this forum? an analog cable from a computer will always suck due to all the noise introduced from a computer.

pick an apple product or some other brand, but make sure you're coming out digital from your computer.

If it's not too much, if your receiver has an optical input, you can also pick up a small usb sound card that can output optical or coax. The Turtle Beach Micro is like $20-30. Optical cable is like $10. You can set it to output optical, connect it to your receiver, and have a much better setup.
