Thanks gents, they did a really great job! Unfortunately some seams are slightly visible and they wanted to give it another go with a little fiberglass, but time constraints said 'no'. The seams are only visible in certain light and really aren't bad at all in my living room. I'll probably just leave them be, but it'll be something I need to consider for future sets. Very glad we did not go matte though, that would have been very visible!

In other news, the 3D printer came in handy yet again as I try to fix the crossover problem. I think I have my solution - both the low bass and bandpass crossovers will be located in the lower compartment. In my infinite brilliance (you know, the one that made this mistake in the first place?) I somehow sized the access panel to be large enough that both crossovers can fit without issue. I just had to make a frame to support the second one.

Final picture from yesterday. No surprise here - they sound way, way better when all buttoned up and in stereo! I think they're pretty darn good already even though the placement is far from ideal. We played several hours of tunes on them to break 'em in at least a little before departing tomorrow morning. My wife is very happy with the look (yay!) and even more so that she can hear and understand lyrics better than our 20-year-old MTM design. I agree with her on that front!

Looking forward to hearing them in a bigger room and getting some notes from others, then maybe we can see about fine-tuning the crossover if necessary. I also need to see where the final tuning ended up and adjust the PRs if need be. Thank you again toJonMarsh and Steve Manning for all your help, I could not have completed these without you!

So I have to apologize to Sven, I was a bit hungover from the Friday night festivities that I neglected to take pictures and such from the event on Saturday. As usual, everything sounded pretty darn good to me with a few standouts. I'll try to get some pics from others for that. My wife kindly took a few of my introduction to the Crescendos, and I snapped one from the Saturday night festivities which lasted well into the night. We had at least 7-8 hours logged on the Crescendos that evening, progressively getting louder and sillier as the night continued. We even tried the LFE intro from Edge of Tomorrow to FINALLY get the Anarchies moving, as even bass-heavy music never really challenged them. It got loud enough that most of us stayed a good 15 feet away from the speakers! I ended up crashing out around 2am Sunday morning, and I think the few stragglers were right behind me.

I only heard positive feedback about the Crescendos JonMarsh , I think you nailed the crossover on the first try!

Nice pics, great news all in all, and it sounds like a good time was had by all!

Of course, when you get cabinets like that all loaded up with drivers and crossovers, moving them around is not a task for the faint of heart!

Now, if only I could hear what the "Best of" album for Nickel Creek ("Reasons Why") sounds like on them! It's really buried itself into my current psyche, maybe also because since I started a new supplement protocol after working on one for cancer support for my wife's older daughter, I feel better in a lot of ways and my singing voice is returning- so mandatory sing-alongs in my FJ when on errands! Vitamin C is critical to soft tissue maintenance and healing, and 10,000 mg per day of liquid Liposomal seems to be the sweet spot for me now.

            King Kong SQ
            by fauzigarib
            Hey there,

I just set up my new HT system, and was dying to watch King Kong on DVD... the new Peter Jackson one, obviously.

I was sorely disappointed. Is it my system, or does the movie just not have nicely mixed sound?

For example, the T-Rex battle on the...

Saw several posts on the Anarchy Woofers here and though some like to see what my buddy and I came up with.

A 80 liter dual chamber, 48" tall mtmmm with a Dayton RS28 F tweeter. As some mentioned, need a tweeter that will go low, e.g. xoed over at 1,100hz here. I think the combination...

Today we mourn the loss of BB King, the King of the Blues
            by Lex
It's a sad day in Bluesville. The King is gone. BB King passed away at his home in Las Vegas Nevada. Though he had been in hospice care. I guess he decided he wanted to go home one last time. If the news reported accurately. I hope that Lucille was close at hand.

            This is a really...

King Arthur the second time around ...
            by George Bellefontaine
... and this time in relative luxury of my own home theater. When I saw this in the theater it kinda left me cold. It was probably the different take on the legend and how King Arthur came to be. But watching it the second time, with a few added scenes ( Director's Cut ) seemed to modify my thinking....
