    King Kong SQ

    Hey there,

I just set up my new HT system, and was dying to watch King Kong on DVD... the new Peter Jackson one, obviously.

I was sorely disappointed. Is it my system, or does the movie just not have nicely mixed sound?

For example, the T-Rex battle on the cliff... there was just no bass to speak of... and the sounds just sounded distant and not mixed well at all.

If you read my thread about DVD Piracy, well you'll know that there's a good chance that this copy of KK is pirated... and yes... it IS pirated. Could that be why?

What are people's experiences with this movie?

As far as I remember king kong had a good mix of sound, btw, you can differentiate between a Original or pirated copy by the look of it itself.

Mate King Kong has a killer soundtrack on it and the bass is very tight especially during the T-Rex fight. Sounds like a bad copy or as you say it's a pirated copy. Did you buy this or was it given to you? Either way your not hearing the real transfer.

I agree. King Kong's PQ and SQ were just plain awesome! You really do benefit from having a great sound system with this movie.

I also found this movie's SQ and PQ stunning. Even the footsteps felt like they were in the room. Also with Peter Jacksons past movies I'm sure he would not have cheaped out on this one with SQ and PQ. It was a great movie to watch and listen to. Sounds like a problem with your disc.

              It's probably your pirated disc.

Rent or buy a legit copy and it should shake your floors.

Exactly! One of the reasons I dont bother with copied discs.

Yes but not my soul. What a dull, disappointing movie.
