Thanks Danny .... I'm in the process of mounting the drivers, so hopefully we'll have some music soon.

Well Jon has let the cat out of the bag so I guess I better show some progress!

Crossover boards are fully wired in place and binding posts are installed.

All of the drivers have pigtails soldered in place with quick connectors. This is to facilitate removing the drivers when Robert picks the cabinets up to prevent damage during their trip home.

Next step is moving out the Calliope's and hooking up the Ardent's and see if they make some music.

Thanks gents ..... Dar this is probably the last Ardent build with this collection of drivers since the mid range is no longer made. Though there are other driver options. This is the 3rd set of these that I've helped with in some fashion, though this last set is the first time I've got to hear them ..... as ET is fond of saying "most impressive"!

We shouldn't forget Ron Bradley's special edition with the ScanSpeak midrange and ScanSpeak cloth dome tweeter.

Revisiting that configuration and dialing it in for the new Illuminator D3004-6022-00 might be quite nice, and certainly an improved "value proposition".

Of note and addition to Steve's comments, on the ScanSpeak site ALL of the Be tweeter models, including the 6640 are on production hold, due to inability to source Be for the domes. So a tweeter update is also mandatory.

The look fantastic with and without the grills! If these speakers go by a wall you almost have to install a mirror behind to be able to enjoy looking that those crossovers.

As I completed my SMJ Calliope build this year I decided I wanted to take this to the next notch and build the Ardent D's with the help of Steve Manning. With that said I pulled the trigger on having Steve build the cabinets for the Ardent D's using the TTC style and the bamboo tops, bottom, and front...

                                      Another Wavecor Ardent build
                                      by BobEllis
This project was supposed to come after the completion of my https://www.htguide.com/forum/showth...sign-and-build but I didn't make much progress over the summer, and now cooler weather threatens my outdoor workspace. Even if it didn't get cold, the water goes...

Wavecor Ardent Journal - the first Builds
                                      by benthe8track
So in terms of laminating different materials I came up with this:

Blue is hardboard, green is bamboo, red is birch, and MDF color is 3/4" MDF, pink is 1/2". Some of the 3/4" MDF can be swapped with birch I guess. Any thoughts?
Let me know If I should...

                                      Wavecor BlieSMa Ardent

Wavecor SW223, check. Accuton C90-6-079, check. Scanspeak 6640, โ€ฆ, Scanspeakโ€ฆ? Apparently I canโ€™t make things too easy on myself. Also, the Bliesma was on sale for black Friday.

After 3.5 years collecting drivers they are all in house, so time to order crossover components....
