    Carmodys Speedster tmm:s

Hi! Have been lurking here some times around years, now time is right to try make something that was in my mind for a while. Decided to go with Paul Carmodys speedster tmm. As you soon notice, im not skilled in woodworking, so lets see whats come with first project...

Not so great tools to make woodworks, but hey, what we got, they have to be enough!

For the materials, plywood was easy to get, so with it we go. Veneer it with eucalyptus.

You appear to be making progress at a good rate... do consider your veneering process carefully, and how to create a stable base on the plywood to seal before veneering.

Hey! Very good advices... This is my shame, why i dont folloved your advices... Situation is, i realised couple of days ago that i have done job almost to goal. Without posting single messages here, which i used to be do. Luckily i have documented at least some parts of build, so i can post them now. Hope they help some new builders avoiding same mistakes i did. In this point speedsters just waiting to fourth layer oil drying, then sanded with 4000, and put all together and hard listening. Time what i have put these is around one month. Just trying to post this disaster in timeline, so it is at least somehow followed... I think these are ready in next week, posting more whenever i have little time. I thought to share this, so other newbies like me see, that it cant all the time go so nice like your experienced guys projects. Somewhere it has to be started, and i`m glad i started it here.

Holy cow, reading my own text above... Sorry, i`m real bad in english... Hope you guys understand at least something from these cryptic writings

You have a router, you have clamps you have a drill press, you have a bench and space. What more do you need?!

Some working skills would be fine... Here they are learned.

But yes, you are absolutely right, @5th element. What the hell i`m whining, with those i get this project to the end.

With basic tools skilled man can make most impressive things. Btw router is the tool that i buy for this project, i think it`s useful for some other things in the future.
(jasper jig would be very cool, diy did the job this time)

I didn't have realized that neocd1 even can be in that shape, i believed they all are round. So front panels have to do again with proper routing. Crossover assembly, testing and putting them into place.

New fronts routed, checking that elements will fit. Filling boxes. Time to glue all together.

Ok, here we are. One pic while oiling, installing bolts for feets, and couple for finished. Listened these now 2-3 days, liked them very much. Pretty impressed, how Mr Carmody gets sound that big out from those tiny elements... I have had some speakers here around years. Von shweikert vr4, amphion xenon, penaudio infiltrator, acapella fidelio, audio physic virgo2, audio physic tempo. For quickly I think only vr4 is better than these, so I think I go happy with these some time.
