    GREAT LOOKING SPEAKERS TOO!!!

      Mini Repaint

Got the Minis painted and drying.
Added the roundover and I'm really happy with the way that they came out.

I'll let them sit in the garage until Sat evening before reinstalling the drivers and bringing them into the house to let them temper the rest of the way.

          Thanks Jim!
I can't wait to get these back in and the whole Mini+Micro system up and running.

I've got the Micros on the floor on some boxes being used as my mains (tweeter has been flipped since they'll eventually go up in the back of the room) and they are AMAZING. So little, yet so much sound! Mounts and wiring are here and mocked up; so hopefully it'll be in place and ready for room eq to start (will probably just start with a mic and audyssey to see where to start) working through the process.

I'll get some pictures of all 5 so people can see the size comparisons for later. And maybe one of the 5.1 setup with now matching cabinets!

JaxLax, those look really nice! I've never painted any of my speaker cabinets before, may I ask what paint/application technique you use?

              KEN!

I ended up using 'Decorator White' semi-gloss interior house paint (to match the trim color in the room) and used a std cabinet roller. My son even got to do some of the base layers. I think there are about 5 layers of paint on each of the speakers.

They look great at 5' out, but on top of them you can see some orange peel. But I'm much happier as the finish is very uniform. Overall, I did it because we are planning to redo the living room in the near future so going with a veneer or a specific color might have lead to another change. So a general color and easy finish was settled upon.
