    Statements in Australia

Well I have finally finished my first big speaker project, Jim and Curts Statements (having Paul's OS under my belt).

They were a labour of love. Thank you gents for your contribution to the DIY community and to all those who collaborated with you. A big help was all of the build threads that I used to help me solve problems and answered questions I had during the build. They have been playing in my living room now for about 4 weeks and I must say they sound awesome. I am having a house built and there position now is just temporary until they go into my dedicated media room. They certainly are revealing. My appreciation of FLAC has increased since owning them.

I decided to build them slightly different with them front ported. All internal measurements are true to the original plan however. I have used the bottom chamber to store my crossover which I like should they require any attention. It’s true what everyone says, the do sound better after about 20 hours of play.

Any way I thought it rude of me if I didn’t post a pic or two and say thanks Jim and Curt for all you have done. I am working on the centre channel and 6 monitors + Zaph's 12HF sub. So I will add some pics along the way.

Sorry I can’t help with a metric plan. I did re-draw them in Autodesk inventor using metric but modified them slightly to accommodate for the front port. I am not sure if it would be of use to you. I placed the crossover in the bottom sealed section of my Statements. Did I mention they sound so amazing. Try Richard Strauss - Also sprach Zarathustra Intro at 110db It will blow your head off!!!

Heh ... I did exactly the same thing.
In my build thread you will find metric plans, but also with a crossover compartment and front port.
Anything on these babies sounds wonderful ... from Metallica over Dire Straits to Chet Baker.

Two new additions to the family. They sound wonderful. Could not be happier. Next up are the monitors, 6 in total. One of these days I will have to put a finish on the family.

I find it hard to believe that it was 8 years ago that Jim, Wayne and I started work on this design. In all honesty, it was just to be a design for Jim. At the time we had no idea that the Statement series would enjoy this long run of popularity, or that anyone else would even consider building such a large and expensive design on 'spec' alone. Based on emails I have received, there are now Statements on six continents, and several island nations.

Jim is to thank for the concept, enclosure design, and the driver selection. Wayne spent many hours getting the voicing just right. -And I, well I thought the midrange tunnels might be fun to try...

Thank you all for your faith and support. It gives me great joy to know others are enjoying the music.
