NEC HT 1000 getting a lot of praise

I have been reading a lot of posts by owners of the NEC HT 1000 dlp PJ and like what I am hearing. This projector is claiming to be pretty darn close to CRT in the contrast department. I have already received a price quote from a dealer in Ontario that is better than the US price converted to CDN, so I am giving some serious consideration here. But first I have to view dlp to see if I can live with the color wheel artifacts.

I have also heard some good things about service and how well NEC are treating their customers. I had been seriously considering the Sony HS 10 , but their one year warranty and poor customer service, along with the lamp problems, have caused me to give second thoughts. The NEC has a 2 year warranty and an addtional year can be added. The PJ has a sealed light path so there are no filters to clean and replace, and no dust on the dmd panels. This baby comes calibrated at D6500, and a recent review stated it was accurate out of the box. A 5000 color temp foir B&W movie3s, and a choice of higher color temperatures are available. It is also very tweakable if you want to customize the color temp to your particular liking.

Now, if I can just live with rainbows.

If you have light control, that's what I'd get in the under $5k range.

If you were willing to spend more, I'd wait the 6-10 months to see what Sony's new technology looks like, ar at least what it did to other PJ prices in general.

I've been giving that some thought, too, Brandon.

My NEC HT1000 is up and running
        by George Bellefontaine
I received my PJ Monday and toyed with various settings last night and watched some scenes from various dvds and finally an entire movie.

First I used Avia to properly set brightness, contrast, color and hue. I then used some picture settings suggested by another owner who seems to have...

Hi all, maybe some of you have ready the odd post or two from me in Club Rotel (guilty as charged 1066 owner). I must admit I don't check in altogether too much except to keep track of firmware upgrade and a tad bit of HT gossip now and again. But this time I'm having a problem of major urgency concerning...

Rotel 1098 remote is controlling my NEC HT 1000
        by CSMAB
The remote for the 1098 is trying to control my NEC HT 1000 projector. My NEC is on standby mode until it receives a signal from the NEC remote to power on. For some reason every time I press a button on the Rotel remote the NEC is reading the signal and trying to interpret it. This is annoying since...

        Praise for Panamax
        by Sonnie Parker
A lot of times we read in forums the horror stories that some people have experienced with different products and/or manufacturer customer service. I want to share a praise story.

I purchased a Panamax 1000+ several years ago... probably 6-7 years ago and it has served us well, especially...

        HCA 1000 operating temp. question

We have a client we just did a system "re-do" for and we stacked his 5 HCA 1000 amps in the top of an enclosed M/A rack. They are all bridged. B&W 804s for fronts, HTM1 center, N805 rears.

The cabinet maker didnt really design enough airflow capability for the amount of...
