    Contagion an interesting thriller

This story about a worldwide team of doctors battling a deadly disease stars Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Laurence Fishburne, Marion Cotillard, etc,... whew, with a cast like that, how can it go wrong ? Well, it probably doesn't, it's just that this group of A-List stars have small parts and the somewhat melodramatic story drags a bit at times. Though their parts were sparse, good acting by all concerned. Well worth a watch.

Any comparison to other big disease movies, like "Outbreak"?

I like the whole idea of this film because it is one of my predictions on how the downfall of man might actually happen. Either through genetic tinkering, or the planet itself has decided to get rid of us itself, this possibility is real !!.

Storywise, probably as good as any disease movie out there. Steven Soderberg is a pretty good director. Just so many characters in Contagion that it reminded me of a Robert Altman pic where you have to pay close attention to each character and the part he/she plays in the overall plot.
Like I said, though, it was certainly worth a watch. I just wouldn't bother to watch it again so not a collector item for me.

Watched most of it on a recent plane ride. Very decent. Yes, I found lots of similarities to movies like "Outbreak" and others, that are based on a scenario of a "super bug" that either threatens to, or does, eradicate the human race.

Unfortunately, the flight landed before I finished the movie, so i'll have to rent it now to watch the ending.

Better than nothing but......watching a movie on a plane does not do it any justice at all other than a distraction from the boredom of the flight itself. Watch it on your HT for maximum effect !!!! :T

I quite enjoyed it. Watched it alone, though. My wife works in pharma and has to anticipate nightmare scenarios, so I didn't want to plant any others in her head (her job is to ensure that clinical trials are done correctly and part of that is to map out scenarios of what could go wrong).

Not a good one for her to see, Paul.

I have no clue as to how an album or cd gets re-mastered but, they did one helluva job with these two. I am impressed with how much more they can squeeze out of redbook cd's with each passing year.

My CDP 300 shows a problem while playing the Thriller track of the newest 25th aniversary disk. About to the point if the rap and until the end of the music, the treble enters into complete distorsion, as if the sound cracks in a hiss effect. I've played it in another system without any problem. I changed...

I watched a wild thriller on AZon free movie with prime, with Owen Wilson and Thalma Hyakk I don't remember the name of it, but it was really "out there". Supernatural oriented, well worth the view. Perhaps one of Owen Wilson's best performances, and Thalma rocked it. Check it out......
