Renee Zellweger is a corporate exec from Miami who is sent to a small Minnesota town factory to do some efficiency trimming ( terminating excess people ). She encounters some hilarious situations and finds herself falling in love with the union rep, Harry Connick Jr. As she warms up to the workers and their families, her job becomes extremely difficult. And when the home office decides to close the factory all together, she must come up with a solution to save the day.
Yeah, it's formula fare and predictable, but there are many humorous moments, and even though I am not a big Zellweger fan, I have to admit she is a good actress and can carry off comedy quite well. For the wife and I, it was a pleasant 90 minutes.
