Has anyone heard anything about this dvd being released in the next month or 2? Im hopeing that it will have DTS sound encoded on it :E If it does then i will definately have to have it! Now only if they could do days of thunder in DTS :E

It's scheduled for a June 7th release. Just next week in fact!!!! No details on the sound are posted on the sites I frequent.
It's shown as an unrated "enhanced" Director's Cut (more Angelina????), whatever that means..

Unrated doesn't guarantee us any more violence, blood, curse words or nudity. It just means it wasn't submitted to the MPAA. With an already thin story, more Angelina and a DTS track are about the only things that would redeem this release..

Dont' get me wrong. I mean, I own the first release and I enjoy all the cars - especially Eleanor - up to the "flying Shelby" part. Then, it's too much. And yes the story is thin. But hey, it's not supposed to be Citizen Cane.
Now as to this release, I just dont' see much driving it unless there's something substantial in the added scenes or a new soundtrack/video re-master..

If you like the movie and don’t already have a copy of this movie on DVD, then this two disc edition is a “must buy”. It not only has the “Extended Cut” but also the original theatrical release with improved video and audio over the previous release.

I recently bought the 2 disc ET special edition. The cover mentions that the sound formats are dd ex and dts es. When I look at the sound option in the menu none really specify the 6th channel.
I understand that some discs are badly flagged and by pressing the right button on the face... -

I'm a new proud owner of the Rotel 1098 and i'm very happy with it. The only strange thing i've noticed (a bug, maybe?) is with DTS ES 96/24 decoding. If i set back surround channel off, using the rotel in a simply 5.1 configuration, DTS ES 96/24 soundtracks appears to be decoded as "simply"...
