Hopefully he will keep it under 4 hours. I think that all of his films are way too long and drawn out. He does not know how to pace his films. I may be in the minority but I felt that way for LOTR and KK. Frightners was just awful.

And I thought I was alone. Nothing wrong with a long movie, just keep me wanting to be there.

            Really?!??!

            Hey there,

I'm surprised! I can understand how people would not think that highly of LOTR (though I'm a HUUUUGE fan of the books and the movies both) because of the length, fantasy material, etc...

.. But Kong just rocked! Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to see it in the theaters, but I plugged it into my HT... Awesome... Especially the scene where he fights the dinosaurs and they fall off the cliff and get stuck in the webs (if i remember correctly)... Most involving, to put it mildly!

            Just my two cents!

The original Dam Busters was a terrific film. One of those kind that has you holding onto the arms of your chair. I'm sure Mr. Jackson will do it justice in his remake. And like Tex Meek, 4 hours of Dam Busters would be right up my alley.

Just for continuity's sake I thought I'd link to the original thread about this subject. Like so many others it started off well but quickly sank into oblivion.

A warm hello to all forum members from down under.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to let everyone know just what a wonderful man Peter is and what he did for me.

It all started when I raised the question of whether the A21 & A51 are multivoltage units, as we...

Three recent films that achievied 5 star status to this viewer
                  by Danbry39
I know I have quirky tastes, but here are short reviews of three films, each of which I bought blind, that I absolutely love. All three are foreign films, so, if you're into that kind of thing, you might give them a try...at least if you can find them for rental. Really don't know if anyone else would...

                  Favourite classic films?
                  by Ovation
I've been on a bit of a classic film run lately (mostly early Hitchcock, but a few others) and while I have a reasonable number of such films on my shelf, I'm curious to know if there are any I should at least rent, if not add to my collection.

Basically, what are your favourite classic...

                  Restoration Of Films
                  by George Bellefontaine
I was watching The Big Country last night. I feel it qualifies as a classic western and was disappointed at the transfer. Obviously the original print is not in very good shape. The image was dark and the technicolor very drab. This film cries for a restoration, but I understand this is a very expensive...
