I listned to the 3.5 and the 5 Musical Fidelity's today. The 5 is far superior to the 3.5. More dynamic, better sound-stage and more listenable.

I have not listened to the z-ray.

Thnaks for the feedback though that wsa not what I watned to hear...I was really hoping that the a3.5 would be close to the a5 since it is so much cheaper! i wonder if you add the x10-v3 tube buffer to the a3.5 if it would make it sound better?

        Sony kds-60a2000 and Toshiba HD-a35??
        by maseline_98
I was reading that the hd-a35 outputs at 1080p/24fps. My question is, will my TV accept it? I of course contacted sony's tech department to ask them if my TV accepted 1080p/24fps or 1080p/60fps or both. The first guy I talked to said 24fps and I wasn't 100% convinced that he knew what he was talking...

Breaking with modern conventions - a highly musical 2-way system using an 8" woofer
        by theSven
        By Jon Hancock

This article will describe the fruits of my efforts to build a moderate sized speaker which might be moderately above average in performance for a basic two-way system. I desired a speaker like this both for my own use in secondary systems, and to fill a need for some friends, who desired fairly full range response (i.e., “it’s gotta have good bass”). Also, though I have access to a good wood shop, many potential DIY enthusiasts may not, so I hoped to use a modified...

        Musical thoughts
        by dnn8350
I was musing on another thread (RA-1062 with RB-1080) that the way to tell a 'music lover' from an 'audiophile' is whether their CD collection is more valuable than their system, or vice versa. Well, I'm sure it's possible to be both, but my priority now is to work on my disk collection (mainly CDs,...

        musical subs
        by agrippa
I am researching subs and looking to build some small musical subs. Just for music, no HT. I have built several subs but most have been for HT and cars.

I want to build 2 subs and size matters. They need to be small(about 1 cubic foot) and slim Dollars always matter but I can...

        Cambridge Audio 540D Thoughts/Problems

        Hi,

This is my first post on this site. Hope you find it helpful. I've have had the CA 540D for about 2 months now. At first, I was thoroughly satisfied. Sharp looking unit, nice remote, musical sound, good picture, good value. I use it both to play movies and to play CD's and DVD-A's....
