rotel 1080 or PS Audio HCA2

    Hi all

I have a 1066 pre/pro with marantz m500 monoblocks and B&K ST202. My front ends at pioneer 755ai (similar to 47ai) universal player and CAL Icon II. Movies/music ratio is 60:40.

I can now get hold of a used 1080 which I plan to drive the front speakers (ruark prologues II, centre is dialogue and rears are epilogues). My other option is a PS Audio HCA2 hybrid digital power amp that's had rave reviews but costs twice as much.

Wonder if anyone of you have had experience with either power amps and can tell me how they compare.

      1 x RMB-1095 vs 3 x RB-1080?
      by hired goon
      G'day,

I've currently got an RMB-1095 5x200w amp, about 2 weeks old. For a few hundred dollars, I can trade this in to get 3 x RB-1080 2x200w amps.

I'm wondering about the advantages and disadvantages of such a move.

This is what I've come up with:

RT-1080 tuner - display is too dim
      by kneptune
I just traded in an early version of the current RT-1080 tuner (was black version) for a newer silver version of the 1080 tuner (had to make it match the silver RSP-1098 - for the all important WAF).

As per the RT-1080 owner's manual addendum, the newer 1080's display now functions slightly...

What's better to push the mains, RMB-1095 or RB-1080?
      by PewterTA
Okay, I'm looking for a little bit of help here...

I have both the 1095 and 1080 and am trying to figure out which one I want to push my mains (B&W DM604 S3s). Right now I have the RMB-1095 since I haven't gotten my 1080 back off my friend (he's using it for right now until his amp...

      RMB-1095 vs. three RMB-1080's
      by jlee
Hello. I currently have an RMB-1095 5 channel amp. Couldn't be happier with it. Best amp for the money without a doubt. I've had this setup for 2 years now and was thinking of upgrading. I was going to slowly move towards the Classe SSP-30 MkII processor and CAV-180 5 channel amp, but they have been...
