RT-1080 tuner - display is too dim

I just traded in an early version of the current RT-1080 tuner (was black version) for a newer silver version of the 1080 tuner (had to make it match the silver RSP-1098 - for the all important WAF).

As per the RT-1080 owner's manual addendum, the newer 1080's display now functions slightly differently than the original ones. The display on the original 1080 had three display intensities, high, dim, and off (hitting the down cursor arrow on the RR-1050 would toggle these modes). The new 1080 now just has on and off (via the DISP button). My concern here is that when the display is on it is not very bright and is somewhere in-between the high and dim settings of my original 1080.

Is anyone aware of a way to adjust the display's intensity, ie., through the i/o port or via a pot adjustment. The display is just not quite bright enough in my opinion, especially during the day.

    Any input would be appreciated.

    Kevin

    RT1080 Tuner Question

Running the RT1080 with a 1068 and have everything working great except the "RDS and RDBS Reception" information. The manual states that by hitting display repeatedly, one should be able to set what is displayed on the 1080. I simply want the Standard (choice 1) Frequency Display but it...

    rt1080 computer control program BETA

As some of you know I just bought a RT-1080 tuner. I received it friday and have been working on a program to control it and view it. So far I have gotten the text from the display screen working pretty well. You see just what you see on the actual unit but there are a few bugs.

    RT-1080 tuner + 1068 remote (RR-1050)

Just curious if anyone else has experienced the same glitch as I have with the RT-1080 tuner + 1068 remote (RR-1050). I don't suspect there is any fix for it, but doesn't hurt to ask.

I blank out the display of the RT-1080 tuner by holding down the "display" button on the tuner...

It's an HDTV monitor, the following applies: (Extracted from Plasma Depot since it was actually better than Sony's writeup.) I won't address each feature...

I just bought a Rotel rt1080. This is my first rotel product ever. My question is how do I use the IO Port. Can I just hook it up to my switch and access it like a router via http (I highly doubt this is in fact the way to do so). I am going to college for computer science so I would like to write a...
