    siganl bleed thru?

I have a 1055 and have my DVD player connected via coaxial, CD player via optical and DirecTivo via analog.

I noticed today some signal bleed thru. I stopped a DVD and heard both DirecTV and CD bleed thru. It was faint by clearly audible

Do others have this problem? I run ver. 1.49 on my 1055. The only problem I have is that I cant turn off my DirecTivo so I always hear it if the volume is fairly loud and I pause or stop the selected source.

    TIA

Yep, I have the same bleed thru and it is annoying. Don't hear it that much, but nonetheless it still annoys me knowing that it does that.

I also get a hum coming from the speakers whence PL2 is selected. Only tried PL2 on an input from a regular TV/video out, and it doesnt really impress me that much, as it seems that the centre channel does all the work and the others don't do much at all.... Is this so for others?

I have owned Kenwood, Onkyo, Marantz, NAD and now Rotel 1055 and they all do this to some extent. The only solution I know of is to shut off the culprit souce.
Kinda makes ya wonder about the actual quality of these units.

I only hear the bleed thru when it doesnt have a lock on the digital signal or analog signal. Try playing a cd that has some silence in it. If you still hear it then there is something wrong with your unit.

The reason behind the bleed though is that all the grounds are tied together. Its unavoidable but nothing to worry about unless you like listening to your system with no input selected at high volumes

I know how frustrating these ground problems can be a good friend was experiencing this same problem with his Citation-Parasound setup. What he finally did was went to radio shack & purchased a grounded 8 outlet spike strip with the cable&telephone inputs built in the cost was around 30.00 U.S. anyway this completly solved his problem. No more hum or feedback through his cable or his phone. I hope this will help

                Entice,

PLII needs to be tweaked to your tastes and room. By default the center width is too narrow, spread it out one or two clicks. Also panorama is off by default. Turning it on mixes some of the info to the rears. This can be done by going to the input menu, selecting PLII with the left/right keys, and then hitting enter to go to advanced settings.

                Kevin D.

                  RSX-1055 + DirecTiVo?
                  by lhl12
Does anyone have experience combining a DirecTiVo satellite receiver with an RSX-1055? Specifically, I am wondering whether the 1055 will gracefully handle switching digital and analog inputs from the same source.

I have been told that a DirecTiVo box will output Dolby Digital programming...

                  RSX-1055 5.1 bass management
                  by paazel
Hello, I'm thinking of upgrading from my RSX-972 to a RSX-1055.

Currently my Panasonic DMP-80K is connected via coax & also thru the 5.1 analog inputs. My RSX-972 lacks bass management for the 5.1 inputs; and as I'm too lazy to manually adjust the bass on my sub, I end up using the...

Since I have cut out the 2 resistors I have noticed something strange. When Im listening to a SACD thru the multi inputs, if I enter the CD source, which is connected optically to the 1055, I can still hear the R/L channels of the SACD. This is very apparrent on multi channel SACDs as the vocals are...

I really like the sound of my system It is awesome in stereo. The only thing I feel I might be lacking is a bigger sound stage and more involving sound.I really dont need it to go louder cause I live in an apt just better.
