    rb985+rb991 would these match

hi all having done a bit of "reasearch into older rotel power amps"
will soon recieve rb 985 5 channel amp, and was in the future thinking of buying rb 1080 to power front channels for av/sterio duties,
have know noticed there is older models avaliable ie rb991 (200watts) is this a 2 chann or 3 chann power amp as web site i saw this on does not state which,

would the combo of rb985+rb991 be better than rb985+rb1080,
with possible rotel 1066 processer at later date (use 3802 in the meantime) thanks all

I can't say if the two match or not, but I've had my used 991 for a few weeks now and it's fantastic. It's 200wx2, can't be bridged, but does have XLR inputs (which I don't use-but is nice to have). It's squeezing everything my Infinity IL30's are capable of, which means I'll need to upgrade those soon.

I'm new to separates , but it seems to me that this is a great deal at around $600 on the used market.

Q: How much for used RB991?
        by mmg_fan
        Hi
i'm considering a purchase of a used RB991 with 1 year warranty remaining.

Will this be a good match for Megnepan MMG's?

How much should I be willing to pay in candian or us dollars?

        Thanks in advance!!

        RB991/RB1080 for Dyn Audience 82
        by Belgarath99
        Hi

I have heard that this is the best forum to talk Rotel.

I am thinking of buying an used Rotel RB991 to add to my HT setup. I will use the pre-out of my Denon AVR 3805 to connect to the power amp to drive my Dynaudio Audience 82 speakers.

        I have heard comments...

        Klipsch RF3 & Rotel RB991
        by ALS
        Dear Freinds,

What's your opinion on Klipsch RF3 & Rotel RB991 power + RC1070 pre. Source as NAD 541i. I found the sound from above combo is bright & loud & not very balanced. My feeling is RB991 may be too much power (200rms/ch) for RF3s, since it's a high efficiency speaker...

        by John
Hello everyone, im new here but i couldnt resist, as ive had nothing but blowing fuses since ive owned my RB991 ( same as the 1080 apart from the remote trigger)

So far :my amp was originally driving 4 ohm sub in an enclosed space, fuses would blow on a regular basis, Lots of blame went...

        RB991 history
        by mookdog99
I've noticed that some of the RB991's have a removable power cord and a THX stamp on the lower front panel. I'm assuming these are the newer versions?? Does anyone know what year Rotel made this switch?? Putting aside the power cord "sonic improvement/snake oil" argument for a minute, is there...
