    RB991 history

I've noticed that some of the RB991's have a removable power cord and a THX stamp on the lower front panel. I'm assuming these are the newer versions?? Does anyone know what year Rotel made this switch?? Putting aside the power cord "sonic improvement/snake oil" argument for a minute, is there that big of a difference between the older/newer versions?? Does one have a better reputation that the other?

Sorry if these questions have been asked before but I could find a thread that answered them when I searched it.

I'm sure some of the 991 experts will chime in later, but I'm pretty sure there's no real difference between the revisions. THX stamp came when Rotel went through their THX phase. Pretty much all Rotel's amp's would pass THX inspection, so the label just means they paid THX some money.
