    Rotel RC-1580 vs RC-1570

Hello everyone. With the recent information about new Rotel products (i.e. RB-1590), I wish to upgrade all my 10 series equipment to 15 series. I have a couple questions about these two pre-amps.

    1) Is the 1570 (or any 15 series piece) a true balanced design? If they are I'd like to go balanced from cdp & DAC>pre>amp.

    2) I will not be using digital equipment with my pre amp. Will the 1580 sound better as it is completely analogue?

Side note: I plan on getting the Rotel RDD-1580 DAC. So the DAC features on the 1570 would be useless to me.

    Thanks in advance!

I can't answer your first question but if I were you, I'd go with the RC-1580. However, I don't see it listed on Rotel's website anymore so it is probably discontinued.

I saw Kal's posting about the new amplifiers at CES 2015. Maybe an RC-1590 is around the corner -- if so, it could possibly be very similar to the old RC-1090. Since the RC-1570 is the only preamp available from Rotel now, we may be seeing a new product in the future. (They usually always have two preamps, a more expensive option and a budget piece). I haven't seen any news regarding a new preamp offering, so this is all speculation.

I hope you find this helpful!

      Hi all,

I read a caption in a magazine that said Rotel RSP 1570 preamps have 1.4a hdmi and 3d capability. Is this the latest models coming off the factory line that have this new version? Can a 1.3a hdmi input be updated via firmware to 1.4a? I'm aware of the 3d passthrough firmware...

Hi to all you Rotel members, this is my first post here. After years of passing over Rotel for other brands, I finally decided to give it a try. I have owned those three units for over a month now, and I must say I regret not doing it before.
I have been in search for a satisfying two channel...

      RA1570 Integ. DAC/Amp vs RC1570 preamp/RB1552 mkII combo
      by capall
      Hi,
I'm considering the RA1570 Integrated DAC/Amp for a 2 channel setup, and possibly to combine it with a AVR for a 5.1 setup in the future. 2ch though is my main priority. My budget is under $2k and have a pair of B&W 683 speakers

However, does anyone have any feedback on how...

      Rotel RC1570 vs. RC1590
      by TimbaLand
Since the launch of both units there has not been much reviews on them. I would love to see a review comparing the two. I have looked at the specs and one can obviously see that the RC1590 is specced more than the 1570. More inputs, subwoofer out, newer DACs. How does that translate into performance...

Potential Sampling Rate or DAC Issue on Rotel 1570
      by chanlon
      Hello,

I'm having some issues with my Rotel 1570 when the sampling/bit rate of sources switch.

I have a SqueezeBox Touch connected via digital toslink directly to the Rotel.
There is no analog connection made.

      Often if I play a 96Khz or 88Khz 24 bit...
