Does anyone have any first hand experience going from a 985 to a 1075? Aside from adding 20wpc, is it sonically superior? What other advantages/differences did you notice?

I have not heard the 1075 yet,
but the 1075 is 80% more expensive than the 985
But I doubt if it sounds 80% better than the 985.
It is a shame the 985 is no longer available. In general I find the 10x series a bit too expensive for my taste :cry:
But tests seem to indicate that the 1075 is a fine amp.

Actually the 1075 is only slightly more expensive than the 985 in Canada (not 80%) so I think the price difference is in line with the improvements.

A long time ago I bought a RSP970 pre-amp and RB985 5x100 power-amp, which I have used for a while and been pretty happy with.

will soon recieve rb 985 5 channel amp, and was in the future thinking of buying rb 1080 to power front channels for av/sterio duties,
have know noticed there is older models avaliable ie rb991 (200watts)... -
Got a used 985 from an auction site. Looks perfect but had a hum on all inputs, all sources, on mute etc. If it was on, there was a hum. Also there was an audio 'hiccup'- like a 1/2 sec pause in sound every few minutes. My setup worked perfectly with an RTC965, nothing changed but swapping the 965...19 December 2012, 02:11 Wednesday -
I bought the RSP 985 a couple of weeks ago.Had some trouble in the beginning with it, but now everything is okay.I loaned a 1066 from a dealer to compare the 1066 vs 985 (have the RMB 1075).I calibrated it and then the listening begun.I listend to my favorite cd's that i know well.And they sounded awful... -
I have the opportunity to buy a RB 985 for £340. What is the difference between this model and the RB985 MKII and is the price I have been offered on the MKI reasonable?
