    RC 1550 and RB1552 wow!

I have had my new stereo set consisting of the new RC 1550 and RB 1552 for 7 days now and it's getting better day by day. I have to say it is the best sounding Rotel amp(RB1552) I have heard, and it is not just an RB1070 in a new box, I tried the RB 1070 up till I got the RB 1552 and the RB 1552 has a more warm and powerfull bass, a full sounding midrange and a very smooth treble with plenty of detail but it's presented so sweet. compered to the RB 1070 which sounded good by a little thin in sound.
I first tried my RB 1072 with the preamp RC 1082, the combo had a great bass, but a very thin and edgy midrange and treble, I then tried the RB 1070 with the RC 1082, then the bass got a bit thinner, the midrange warmer but the treble was still a bit aggressive and hard. I took the RC 1082 and RB 1070 back to the store and after some talks with the sales man I ordre the RC 1550 and RB 1552, and so far the combo have outperformed anything I have ever heard from Rotel. I think for my ears this is the first Rotel combo that will sound very good with a B&W speaker, I have to try it with the CM 9 and the new CM 8 when it comes late this year or early next year.
    It's a winning combo.

Thanks, no I don't have a camera yet. It's in black very nice, but I have to say that the blue lights is a bit to bright.

Most blue LEDs appear too bright. The human eye is very sensitive to that particular wavelength of light, and it is irritating to most people. I have some components with blue LEDs that can do double duty as Lasik eye surgery devices if viewed on axis.

I would like to see them discontinued by all manufacturers, never to return again.

Rotel has vinyl decals that can be applied to tone down the blue power LEDs.

I just bought the same combo and I'm amazed with the sound quality. BW CM8, Rotel RC-1550, RB-1552 and REL T3.

              Great Sound

I thought I had issues with my RC1090 and RB1092 after a thunderstorm. I went out and eventualy got a Rc1550 & RB1582 to replace them. Issue was not with eithre preamp or amp - it was with the ASW800 sub amp. So now I have a good backup system - not sure if I will sell the RC1090/RB1092 combo but it is now boxed up and in storage. The RC1550 & RB1582 sound great together. I think I have a new-found love for A/B Class amps vs D Class (they do have their niche though). I was most surprised by the RC1550 preamp. I had a RC1070 early on in my quest and was expecting something along that line. I feel it is an improvement over the RC1070.

                  Hello,

I'm in the process of buying a receiver for HT and music, and after listening to a lot of different amp/preamp/speakers, I came with the rotel + bw cm9 combo.

Now, as for the rotel part of thing, I did not listen to any receiver directly, in my local shop, they only...

                  Hi,
I just wanted to give a few comments on the RC-1082 that I obtained recently. I moved my RC-1070 to my bedroom system and replaced it with an RC-1082 in the main system.

                  1. Overall the difference is very noticeable, more so than I thought. I had figured that the weakest link...

I sent this message recently to Rotel Support Europe (no answer yet), but it seems interesting to me to post it on this forum too:

Two weeks ago I bought a new Rotel combination consisting the RC-1550 and the RB-1552. I'm very pleased with the overall sound quality, but today I noticed...

My personal observation RC-1070 vs RC-1082

For my secondary, analogue-only sytem I have a Rotel RC-1070 pre & RB-1070 amp. This combo was my first seperates. I then upgraded to a RC-1090 pre and RB-1092 amp. Yes, an upgrade. My dealer asked me if I was interested in trying an upgrade once I told him about my analogue-only system. He...

                  Hi,
I'm considering the RA1570 Integrated DAC/Amp for a 2 channel setup, and possibly to combine it with a AVR for a 5.1 setup in the future. 2ch though is my main priority. My budget is under $2k and have a pair of B&W 683 speakers

However, does anyone have any feedback on how...
