Hello everybody sorry if I am missing something but I searched over and over. But I cant seem to find how to update the 1560 or the links to the firmware. I know it was on here a while ago any help would be great thanks

Thanks I found it last on another forum.
Boy you would think Rotel would of sprung for usb, the update failed last night left me whit a brick. I was able to get going today whit a different adapter, and using the boot button.Comment

USB to serial adapters can be finicky. The one I have will work with 10 Series gear using the older loader but not the new loader. It won't work at all with 15 Series' loaders but will work with the config program.

I have a new 1550 and it looks like I need to perform updates as well- (although all seems well) My issue is I only have Macs and the firmware is only PC?

Could you have your dealer do it? I've done it for most of my customers when I can.

My dealer told me to screw myself Modia In Houston. The update is very scary but simple if you have the right stuff.
The first adapter I bought would connect and start the update but crashed instantly. I was left with a brick and a ton of fear, the next day I went to Frys and bought 6 yes thats right 6 different adapters. 5th one worked, let me tell you right now don't even attempt to use a virtual pc.
I tried running xp on my vista machine the connection kept crashing. I honestly recommend buying a serial port pc card and installing it not to deal whit the hassle. I would of done that if I knew what a pain it would be to find the right setup. But now that I have the right stuff I will just hide it away till needed again.
Oh btw I returned all the other adapters for a full refund because in my opinion they were defectedComment

There have been rumblings for months that a significant update is about to be released, but yet nothing, other than the recent v2.1.3 which only added a couple of small changes.

As the subject says ... be very careful when doing firmware upgrades or actually do not do this yourself.
