I think I read somewhere that it doesn't do OSD via HDMI. But how are you getting OSD with the CD?

OSD volume is only available on 480I sources and not over the HDMI inputs. It would have to have a OSD for every available resolution and the appropriate video system to be able to inject that information into the video.

I thought rotel fixed the issues of osd in high res ,thats one reason I upgraded from the 1098 when my dealer said the 1570 had osd i figured it worked over hdmi .

It's not an issue, it's just not an option. I know of very few manufacturers that have high-res OSD.

If your dealer implied that you would go OSD over everything, he mislead you.

Aww you have the other working inputs over a 480 capable cable? I wouldn't know myself, I don't like OSD since I can hear and see it changing from the preamp. Maybe your dealer was wrong? or perhaps a new firmware update fixed this? I think its mentioned in the manual, all I remember is reading it and not being told verbally. Sorry for being so vague

well thanks for the info I figured everything worked the way it was supposed to but its weird to have the cd and tuner work on screen volume and not any of the video inputs. i was hoping that it was a upgrade i missed.again everythings working strictly through 1.3 hdmi with a sony 1080p xbr9

RSP 1570 HDMI handshaking Issue With Tivo?
                        by fhsun
I recently exchanged my cable/DVR box for a Tivo HD. The cable company installed 2 Cable Cards in the Tivo which eliminates the need for the cablebox.

I connect the RG6 cable from the wall directly to Tivo, then the Tivo directly to the RSP 1570 via HDMI.

                        I am occassionally...

1570: HDMI in; Component Video out?
                        by bluray
I want to run component video from the 1570 to a TV (no available HDMI input on TV due to equipment that I want to keep directly connected to it). Can other video inputs (BD player and Roku) to the 1570 be HDMI with the 1570 then outputting the picture via component video? Thank you.

                        RSP 1570 - HDMI 1.4a
                        by RoMan
                        Hi all,

I read a caption in a magazine that said Rotel RSP 1570 preamps have 1.4a hdmi and 3d capability. Is this the latest models coming off the factory line that have this new version? Can a 1.3a hdmi input be updated via firmware to 1.4a? I'm aware of the 3d passthrough firmware...

Any tricks to get C2 OSD for HDMI Sources???
                        by jprafter
I'm very happy with my Parasound setup though it looks like my C2 will never support HDMI fully. I use a combination of my C2 and TV for video switching along with the MX-700 macros. So I really have no need for a Parasound HDMI switch only device, since it will do nothing to help with OSD.

                        1570 stretches DirectTV nonHD programming
                        by Joe Fagan
My Direct TV HD receiver set to output native resolution/720P is connected to 1570 via HDMI and the 1570 is connected via HDMI to my Sony Projector. The 1570 is set for HDMI 720P and the Sony Projector is set for Wide Mode and 720P. The Direct Receiver and Sony Projector settings were not changed when...
