    RB-1080 power cord options

    Hi there,
So my RB-1080 got delivered this weekend, but the seller forgot to put the power cord in the box. So while I wait for him to send me the stock cord I was just wondering if I could use a power cord from my PC to run the amp? Looks like the same socket to me.

I'm not looking to open Pandora's box about the effects of the mains cable on the sound of the amp, I just am anxious to hook this baby up and take a listen and don't want to start any fires or blow fuses in the process. I looked up IEC connector in Wikipedia and it says most PC sockets are rated for 10 Amps, but the fuse on the 1080 is 12A, so I don't know if I'll pull too much current through the power cord.

    Thanks

Yes, any standard IEC power plug will do the job fine.

        by wa5655
        Hi, all.

I am ready to upgrade the power cord for my RSP1098. However, most after market cord has a 3 vertical pin IEC connector on the end goes into the RSP1098. The OEM cord only have vertical 2 pins. (not C7-rounded)
Any ideas where to find an adaptor for it? I have searched...

        Hi again,

My work is throwing out some perfectly good APC UPSs, and wonder if any of you delightful fellows know whether or not they would be able to support my ROTEL 1066/1075 units? (and if they are worth using anyway?)

The specs are as follows: (I live in the UK and...

Upgraded power cord{AWG16x3C Shielded w/IEC plug} sold in bulk, (identical to that supplied by both Denon and Parasound with their high-end components) It is an audible upgrade to the standard "computer" cords supplied with most components. Marinco and Wattgate plugs are available through...
