    Bass Management Plan B?

    Hello All,

    I have the rsp1068, 1075 amp, paradigm speakers & a panny bd55 bluray player.

today i watch casino royale (bluray) via 6-channel audio outputs. chose the pcm 5.1. very low bass.

then popped on bolt for the kids (standard) and what a difference in a dvd with bass.

is there another bass management unit like the outlaw http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/icbm.html ?

or is there another way to solve this bass problem? is there a problem getting bass with the new hd formats via hdmi?

If you are using the analog inputs cant you just bump up the volume of the sub for bypass?

Yes there is a LFE boost setting in the Rotel that must be used for the multi channel analogs. Also I would suggest disabling the Bass redirect feature that is default on.

Isn't there some bass management facility in the BD55? If so, it should be effective for the analog outputs.

          thanks all,

but i had to cut the volume down on the sub while playing the Quantum of Solace (blu-ray) over the weekend. Is this a softwear issue?

Bass Management...what's a person to do?
            by Andrew Pratt
There seems to be a lot of talk lately on what bass management should or should not be doing. It also seems that there are a lot of assumptions being made about what, where and how this BM should be invoked. I came across a few links that are interesting and suggest that the problem isn't with X but...

            Rotel RSP-1066 Bass Management Report
            by Dre J
            Hello,

I finally registered since I had something useful to add. More to come.

I've spent a good deal of time characterizing the Rotel RSP-1066's bass management under all input conditions. Below is the link to my web page with Rotel's Bass management report and workarounds...

The functions of the RSP-1066 are still the same as stated in my Bass management report.

The only difference is the ability to turn the Sub level to off for the different modes (Stereo, multi, dts, dd, etc.) with 1.48 (2.24) and above.

The multi-channel input is still the...

Hello my fellow Rotelmaniacs, I am Victor from Arlington Texas and I am looking for help with some bass management questions:
First what are the advatages or disavatages of using the Sub setting on Max.
I recently upgraded my DVD player for a Denon DVD 2200 that does bass management, so...

            RSX-1055 5.1 bass management
            by paazel
Hello, I'm thinking of upgrading from my RSX-972 to a RSX-1055.

Currently my Panasonic DMP-80K is connected via coax & also thru the 5.1 analog inputs. My RSX-972 lacks bass management for the 5.1 inputs; and as I'm too lazy to manually adjust the bass on my sub, I end up using the...
