    Rotel 12V Trigger Wire Question

I want to have my amp come one when I turn on the pre-amp and need to find the correct 12v trip wire. Went to Radio Shack and they said it was a mono-mini plug.

Did not work - any chance it requires a stereo mini-plug

    Thanks Rik

    sail,

3.5mm cable is the same as a 12v trigger.

      Sail-A-Wai,

Wierd. The 3.5mm mini-plug/12v trigger cable should work. I use a stereo mini plug on my amps because my amps have separate lights on them tha the stereo part of the mini-plug controls.

With Rotel, I only needed to use a 3.5 mm mini-plug. You might contact your dealer. It's possible the trigger mechanism is faulty. Hopefully not though.

      Hope this helps.

Not sure of your model numbers, but either a stereo or mono cable will work fine. Some things to check:

If your amp as a trigger switch, make sure it's on the ON position.

Some processor's needed to have the triggers setup in the INPUT menu.

Keep in mind the power light on the amplifier will not turn off. You should hear some clicking and see the protection lights flicker as the amp turns on/off.

Won't make a difference. What about the other things I listed.

Make sure your mono plug from Radioshack is not "attenuated". That model would not work because it reduces current I think. I exchanged it for a regular one and then it worked fine.

Is it possible to run a 12 volt (RMB 1095)trigger into a 24 volt in (Panamax Line conditioner)? I ordered one of these: Panamax M5300 ex And would like it to get started up via trigger instead of pushing the front panel button everytime I power up.Any help aprreciated...Thanks!

12 volts work just fine with Panamax. What it says on the back is a range of 3 volts to 24 volts. You will be fine.

                      Hi all,

I almost posted this in my other thread, but thought maybe it could use its own. A few weeks ago I picked up an iNuke 6000DSP to run my LFE channel. These amps are amazing to run subs. The extra headroom for my drivers has added a very audible benefit to my system - and the DSP...

                      12V Trigger Not Working?
                      by fhsun
I hooked up the 12V trigger wire to "in" on the RMB-1075, flip the 12V switch to on, and plugged the other end to "out" in my receiver. I leave the power button on the RMB on.

When I switch the receiver on and off, I do not see any change in the amp. How do I know...

                      Hi,

I have recently picked up a Rotel 1570/1575, and I am having a few problems with the 12v trigger between the 1570/1575. I am unable to get the 1575 to power on while using the trigger when turning the 1570 on. I have the trigger cable connected to trigger out 1 on the 1570, and the...

                      Hi all,
I recently had a new home threatre installed which consists of my current Onkyo 787 receiver acting as a processor and new Rotel RMB-1075 and RB-1070 providing the amplification for a 7.1 setup (which sounds fantasic btw). The problem being that my Onkyo doesn't have a 12 volt trigger...
