    rdv-1092 noisy

    Hi,

    I have an RDV-1092. I am happy with the sound en video quality. I am a bit disappointed about the motor wich is very noisy. I have had contact with the shop and rotel they say it is normal and i have to life with it. Perhaps you know a solution for this promblem to decrease this sound.

      The 1092 can be a little noisy, but there's nothing wrong with the unit. Are you in North America? If so, you could probably get them to exchange it for a 1093. It's essentially a 1092 with a different transport (lead free for the EU market), but it is quieter.

          Hi Kevin,

          Tanks for your answer. I am in europe (the netherlands). I have contact with the delaer and with Rotel ( in the netherlands) but they say i have to live with this "problem", no proposal alt all. I expected an other reaction for this kind of product.

              I'm expecting the 1092 reviews anxiously.

              I have a terrible doubt if I should go to a really expensive player like the 1092 or just buy an inexpensive one (like the Marantz DV6600). For the moment I don't need the 1080p as my projector is only 1080i but I really need the HDMI output....

I will probably do it IF the sound quality is as good as the RCD 1072 as I can get a decient trade in from my dealer on my 1060. To me its worth spending an extra K in orde to get an all in one...

              My installer recomended that I stick with component cables for the 1092 rather than the hdmi cables. What's the opinion of the rotel community?

              Can the RDV1092 match the PS3/blu ray in video and audio quality? I know it's not out yet, what's the feeling out there once blu ray hits the shelves. I know that the blu ray player is differnet from the stand alone player, does anyone knows the difference ?

              Just unpacked an RDV 1092... I have a bug

              If one plays a CD after a DVD the unit seems to be passing noisy bitstream-the sound from the speakers is compressed and staticky. Powercycling the RDV cures it until a DVD is played again. This bug does not affect the analog outs. Just the coax...
