    RDV 1092 Bug-need help.

    Just unpacked an RDV 1092... I have a bug

    If one plays a CD after a DVD the unit seems to be passing noisy bitstream-the sound from the speakers is compressed and staticky. Powercycling the RDV cures it until a DVD is played again. This bug does not affect the analog outs. Just the coax and optical outs. Unit is fine until a DVD is played.

    Powercycling the pre/pro (RSP 1068) has no effect--so it's the player.

    Can anyone confirm this on their unit?

      I wonder if fordster's problem is related? The symptom I'm having is definitely a crackling, poppy, static.

          It certainly sounds like a similar problem but my problem is with the analogue outputs and powercycling doesn't "fix" it for me.

              Update: I have been able to confirm this bug on a Denon AV reciever... It's definately the player. My question: is it just my player or all of them??

              Does anyone out there have an RDV 1092?

                  Unfortunately, not many.. It might take a while for someone to reply. If your in the US, Rotel will replace it with a new unit.
