I noticed them, but the shots are to close to get a good idea of what it looks like.

I agree - while it seems to lack a few features, I'm likely in for one as well. My 1072 went with my last house, so I;m in need of a new CD player. Hopefully it will sound great (plus look good with my RSX-1560). I kinda like the slot load concept.HT

I've noticed the same thing: the startup value of 45 is really really really soft, and a volume of 70 is just normal listening level, not loud at all.- Bottom

I'm also looking to upgrade my CD player, but I'm not too excited about the new RCD-1520. Let's see what the specifications and street price is going to be for this unit, it will be nice if the price is set around 700 US Dlls.
On the other hand, don't you think that the "20" designitation is too low? Probably Rotel will present and RCD-1580 late this year. Right now, I like the arcam cd37 better.- Bottom

The RCD-1520 is $1000.00 US. I think you're reading too much into a model number and specs. The thing to do is listen to it when it ships which should be around March to April. If you still like the Arcam CD player after you listen to it, then that is the one you should have. If the Rotel is better, then get that one. Don't judge until you listen.

FYI
I just got my 1570 with the IR sensor problem replaced with a brand new unit and things seem to be fine now. Iaan from Audio Visual Today and Rotel have been great at taking care of this issue :T
