Rotel RSX 1057 Sub Crossover Problem...

    Hi guy's

I allways had my sub crossover on the Rotel RSX 1057 on 100hz. I have a large room and like little bit more bass. Recently i got a new Paradigm Servo 15 V2 to replace my old mission Sub. Anyways now i developed a Poping sound when the receiver changes settings from prologic to dolby digital.

Never had a poping sound before, and was wondering if this is normal? I am also using a Y-Adapter on the sub that i never used on the mission sub. I wonder if this have any contribution to the poping noise?

I turned down the crossover to 80Hz but still didn't make a difference. I really can't tell the difference between 80 an 100 in my room anyways..

So is this normal or should i have the receiver looked at?

Note: All my speakers are hooked up to the rotel RMB 1075. I am using the 1057 as a pre/pro...

Sounds like your new sub has introduced some type of ground problem on the system. Pick up a 3-2 prong adapter for where your sub plugs in and see if it makes a difference.

Might be a rumor, but I have heard they are illegal in Canada. Might have to get a spare power cord (if it's removeable) and break the ground pin off to test.

          Hi ICEMAN70,

I have had some like problem in my old house ....

          with a switzerland possiblity 2 (+,-) or 3 (+,-,ground) with someone product
with the ground (3) i have problem and if I go without the ground is all OK.

try with a 2 adapter in my house with this easy solution I don't have any problem.

            Hi guy's

It was the Y-Adapter.. I got a new Y-adapter and a shorter subwoofer cable and the problem is solved..

Also on a side note.. What do you guy's run your sub crossovers at? 80Hz or 100Hz?

            Cheers,

It does sound like a ground issue.

Hi just opened my new B & W 804s'. (running them on an old Pioneer pro logic 105 watts) Now, do I go with the Rotel RSX-1057, that I bought but is unboxed, or do I step up and pay $900 more retail and get the RSX-1067. by jjhall5150
After listening to several models of AVR's. I have decided that I want to go with a Rotel setup for my new HT system.

My question is quality of sound between the 1057 and the newer 15 series.

I will not be listening at extreme loud levels, and I will be purchasing a 3...
