Apply RSX 1065 to RB 993

I would like to connect my RSX 1065 to a Rotel RB 993 Amplifier.
    Have a B&W XT HT (XT4/XTC/PV!1/Rears).
Is this possible (HOW?) and would be an improvment in stereosound?

It is possible and quite easy. Just connect the preamp outputs (the left, center, and right) from the receiver to the amp and hook the speakers up to the amp and your done.

And yes it would be a big improvement in performance.

No. You need to calibrate the system just like before with an SPL meter but other than that you should be set.

          halobeto,

I don't believe you will need to do anything in the Rotel reciever in order to 'activate' or 'control' the pre outs. However, I would access the receiver menu and run some test tones to make sure you hooked up the front three channels correctly. Then, you can run a calibration disk to balance all the speakers. It's always a good idea to rebalance when you add a major piece to the system.

As was noted, you should definitely experience an improvement to your audio. Bigger soundstage, better dynamics. I remember when I went to an external amp, these were the biggest areas of improvement. But, all areas improved.

          Hope this helps.

Questions about RSP 1066, RSX 1065, and RSX 1055
            by davisj
I am a new member and could use some help with my new HT decision. I just got a projector and will buy the rest of my system by next week. I am ready to go with Rotel for the preamp, amdp, and probably the DVD/ CD. All in the family you know. I am considering the RSP 1066 with amp, RSX 1065, and RSX...

            RSX-1065 vs. RSX-1055
            by Glenn
Does anyone know, aside from the power difference, if the internals and layout of these two receivers are basically the same, or is the RSX-1065 actually a step up, quality and parts wise? I'm trying to determine the real difference between these two products.

            The RSX-1055 is actually...

            RSX-1065 Issues
            by Arnold van Oostrum
Like the RSP-1066/RSX-1055 the RSX-1065 also has some point that need to be enhanced or fixed.

The RSX-1065 has some flaws in decoding the sound format.
            1) There seemes to be no difference in normal DD5.1 and DD5.1 EX sound. With both formats the RSX-1065 uses the CB speakers....

Components out from RDV 1060 thru RSX 1056
            by Vicente
            Hello everybody.

As I just bought a Mitsubishi HC3000 projector (resolution up to 1080i), I changed the components connections from directly from the RDV1060 to the projector, to pass through the RSX 1056 so I could connect some more devices to the pj with the same cable.
