Haven't seen anything on the 1098 with HDMI (I just checked the website). Until it offers HDMI, frankly it will still be obsolete. -
try search, there is a thread on this. HDMI switching only, no decoding, module replaces the s-video board. Requires special firmware and fitting by Rotel. Whether its worth it is a personal choice, but its probably a good option in leu of a 1099.Originally posted by N2siast- Mike

Well, it's been almost 2 months now that I've lived with both my Rotel RSP1098 and my Parasound C2 and the time for deciding which I'm going to keep is almost at hand.(not that I HAVE to decide now for some reason, but I'd hate to end up with 2 processors permanently)

I was told by my local dealer that Rotel will be making a HDMI update for the 1098. New component card, he said he thinks they will be replacing the S-Video card with HDMI.
Can anyone else confirm this?
