Region code error on RDV 1050 E

I have had region code error problems since buying an RDV 1050 E 2 years ago. As time passes the equipment seems able to read less and less of the DVD's that we buy. Can anyone help please in to reprogram the equipment to read any region code DVD.

So some discs that you know are in your region are causing the 1050 to think they are from a different region? If so, that's a hardware problem.

Even if you found a way to make it region free, I doubt it would fix the problem.

If the RDV-1050 says 'Region Code Error', then it is a region setting problem, however as Kevin already suggested, if the DVDP simply does not read some discs then there is probably an issue with the DVD drive or servo.

The region setting can't be changed by a remote hack either, so if it has lost the setting you'll probably need to refer back to the dealer/distributor.

      Hope this helps anyway.
      Best regards,

        Rotel RDV-995 Help!
        by TaiChiFrank
I have moved from New York, USA to Taipei, Taiwan. The region code on my RDV-995 is 1. I need to change it to 3. Does anyone know the programming to set this unit to Region 3? Is it possible to reset back to 1 for USA DVD playing? A HiTech audio dealer said it can be made to Region 0, to solve my problems....

        Hi there,

Can anyone tell me if the RDV-1050 and RDV-1060 are able to playback both DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW discs?

        Thank you

The new RDV-1090 is Rotel's first truly "universal" player. Able to reproduce high-resolution multi-channel and stereo recordings with state-of-the-art quality playback not only with DVD-A, but also SACD discs. "We prefer to take a 'wait and see' approach to new technologies. We've waited...

        RDV-1050 vs RDV-1080
        by Fishy
I am looking at a new(ish) DVD player for my ssetup below.

I can buy either a new 1050 or an older 1080 player.

But which is the better to go for? I will mainly use it for films, but the odd CD will no doubt be played on it.

        Thanks
