Help with setting up RSX 1057

Still trying to set this unit up in a HT room.I have had this unit now for
6 months and loving it,alot better than my old unit
This is matched up with Mission speakers
    734 mains
    m7c2 center
    m7ds rears
plus m71 for 6.1 or 7.1 not wired as yet
    No sub
I have the speakers set to large on all, is this ok ??
I feel the sound is great but still like to get input
    Also
What would be the best set up for a HD dvd
Thinking Toshiba A35. using its 5.1 output or optical
    Any help would get
    Thanks
    Ian

Do you plan to add a sub? Also what else do you have.Dont know if your into dvda/sacd since there are only 1 set of 5.1 anaolgs on the rotel. If you list all yor gear i'm sure you'll get alot of help.I have the rsx1056 but use a universal player for sacd/dvda and a tosh for video.I have the tosh via digital since my analogs are taken by the universal.I may get a switcher later. If all you got is the tosh connect it to your 5.1 analogs.

      Hi Rick
      Rest of system
      Jvc 61" 1080p
      None hdmi dvd player
      HD sat Receiver

      Dvd optical to rotel,
      Sat receiver optical to rotel
As for Sub have not hooked one up but can demo one any time
This room is purpose build HT room no windows,
      Wired for 7.1 system
Have room to expand system with extra amp if needed, but starting out slowly
Main concern was the DVD audio hook up on the Tosh, what is the best for the rotel and ears

since your not using a universal just connect the tosh via your 5.1 analogs and HDMI for video.Thats supposedly the best way to get the truehd. But i got mine connected via digital and it still sounds great.Never heard it via 5.1 analogs but would like to in the future if i get a swtcher.I'm not willing to sacrifce my dvda/sacd.

            Hi all,
I thought this was so simple! optical being digital should be better than analog RCA connector!! Well, seems not to be the case... atleast for stereo listening

            My setup is
            Rotel RSX-1057
            BW 602
            REL STROM V

            by rs1831
I'm new to everything about home theater. I just purchased a rotel 1057 and I want to connect my sat and ps3 using hdmi. I just want to make sure that I understand this. Using hdmi from the source to the receiver and then from the receiver to the tv. But to get the audio do I have to use an optical...

            PS3 Help with Rotel 1057
            by Sticky Hawk
We have bought the munchkins a PS3 for the holidays. Naturally I want it to run movies and game sound through my speaker set up. I have a 1057 that I am using as a pre-pro, I also have an OPPO that I use for standard DVD's. I know this is going to sound dumb (with a capital D), but can I get 7.1...

            RSX-1057 and losing sub
            by landshark99
I keep losing the sub output when i have RCA coming in from my ipod or other source. Everything else plays fine, i just lose the subwoofer.

The only way around it is to go into the 1057's menu and reset to factory. Anyone have a clue why this is happening? All the other sources are fine,...
