Please help, 1057 audio with HDMI?

    Please help, 1057 audio with HDMI?

    I'm new to everything about home theater. I just purchased a rotel 1057 and I want to connect my sat and ps3 using hdmi. I just want to make sure that I understand this. Using hdmi from the source to the receiver and then from the receiver to the tv. But to get the audio do I have to use an optical from the source to the receiver and then to the tv? Sorry, this is just a little confusing to me.

      Correct, the 1057 has HDMI switching only so you will need to run a digital cable (optical or coaxial) in addition to the HDMI. You only need to run the HDMI from the 1057 to the TV, no need for an optical.
