Is the DVI input HDCP compatible? If so you won't have a problem. If not, the scaler will work over component except for protected content. You will most likely see this on some DVD's. I've would say 10% of my discs have kicked my RVE-1060 down to 480p.
Of course there are a few HDMI to RGB converters with HDCP.. I'm awaiting one of the newer ones to ship for me and my component only set.

I just got my SE 20HD projector, and am in the hunt for my new DVD player with DVI/HDCP/HDMI output. I'd rather not go Bravo D1 because of its poor reliability issues... and it's the only non-HDCP player I know of.
