What will Rotel show at CES2008?

Does anybody know what Rotel will show at CES 2008,Maybe a new RSP 1099 or some variation of that.And hopefully a new class A/B power amp,in the same league as RB 1090.

I dont own any RB1090's(yet,hopefully 4 next year)
And Ive lost both thumb nails waiting for the new RSP1098, hi rez audio and all(or RSP 1099 whichever comes first)

Wouldn't the RB-1090 be a bit of an overkill for surround sound speakers, I could understand it for the centre speaker but the surrounds!!!! Are your surrounds, B&W 800 floor standing speakers or equialent hi-end speakers or something?

Yes normaly it would be,but I am going to have the same size speakers all around.so that is why i want the same power in all 7 ch.

Well I think that I best get in touch with the Aussie distributors and see if they can hold 4 for me.
But on a different note, today I was talking to my local AVspecialist and he was saying something about Rotel bringing out new power amps.
can anyone verify this? :T :T

There are a couple of new amps coming out. The RMB-1076 is a 100w x 6 digital amp. Designed connection wise for multi-room audio, but the same modules/sound as the RB-1072. I believe the RMB-1076 is shipping now or real close to it. Retails for $1599US

The RMB-1085 is a 100x5 digital amp. Same modules as above. Should be shipping in November. Retails for $1199US.

I know about the new class D power amps, but do you have any news about some new class A/B power amps?

I doubt we will see any new A/B amps, at least high-end big-boys. The digitals have made enough of an impact. Plus the cost of shipping and copper is making the bigger amps costlier to sell.

They were talking of raising the price of the RMB-1095 to $2500US, but that hasn't happened yet. So basically the price of a new A/B 400x2 would be so high that the RB-1092 would sell even more.

In your opinion would the A/B power mamps be more dynamic than the digital amps
and to me, I keep thinking that I would not like another conversion step in the audio(Digital to anolog)
Is this what would happen if I made purchase of 8 channels of digital amplification

Do you know if the digital Rotel amps sound better than there anologues(I love the sound from my RB1080 and RMB1095)
then I do suppose this question comes down to preference,but still I'd like to know what you think!

I have a RB 1090 and I have tried an AB test with a set of RB 1091.IMO I can't say which is better it's a question of taste.RB 1090 have a more fullbody sound and a bit more bass and the treble and mids are a bit more forward.The RB 1091 have a more controlled sound and dont have the richness in the bass but very powerfull,the treble and mids are not so sweet as the RB 1090.I like them both,but I prefer the RB 1090 because of the bass.

I suppose I'l have to test drive some rotel digital amps, :roll:
but im still waiting for some news from my AVspecialist,til then,I'l sit on the fence.
(hopefully he can get me 4 RB1090's and hold'em for me ;x( )
