    rsx1056 to keep or not?

I'm asking to see if anyone has gone from an rsx1056 to the newer models like the 1058.Was it or is it worth it.I'm kind of on the fence my self since i was debating on adding an amp to my setup but wonder if money would be better spent in upgrading the rsx1056 instead.throwing a line out to see what the opinions are.

What is your reason for the up-grade (ie you need HDMI, etc.)? That might help people answer your question.

If HDMI isn't important to you (maybe there are other big differences between the 1056/57/58, I don't know), maybe adding an amp would be a good way to go. Down the road, you switch the 1056 for a 1069 and still run the amp.

It will be interesting to see what some other more knowledgeable members think.

Well you get HDMI sound decoding, scaling up to 1080p from all inputs, 2 more multi-room zone outputs, the new TI DSP chip, and Brown-burr DAC's.

I could use the extra zone outputs, and the new DSP and DAC's should help out. I'm hoping to put a 1069 against a 1098 when they ship in a few weeks so I guess we'll see.

was hoping i could reopen this post.Still would like to get some opinions in regards to possibly upgrading my rsx1056 to a newer model. The only hdmi sources i have are my tosh a1 which i may relocate and get another tosh(?) for main room and my hd dvr which is via component right now.

Hi Everyone - I've been a longtime lurker and now a first time poster. I've had the RSP 1069 for over a year and have noticed the "5.1" icon on the florescent panel never illumnates. However the "Dolby Digital" message is displayed when a program is broadcast with the DD content...

                      1069 HDMI switching questions
                      by kiwi2000
The 1069 has the video bypass installed yet continues to cause problems when the Motorola HD DVR is routed through it.

The problem I have is with the 4:3 override setting on the PVR.

When the box is powered up or the display turned on or the 1069 turned on or any of these...

                      by Pez
Recently picked up a denon 3808 and am having a problem with the audio from digital sources (HDMI) on zone 2. When using the tuner on zone 2 it works fine but when I try something like my cable box or HD-DVD player connected via HDMI I get no audio output on the outdoor speakers. One of the reasons...
