    RLC-1040 question

I have all of my equipment going through a RLC-1040. The Houston area has been getting lots of rain & Tstorms. My wife got home last night around 7 and she told me the amp/pre/iPod were on. Funny thing is the clocks in the house were still on time. Why would a surge cause my equipment to come on? I am concerned because we keep them in a console/cabinet with doors (no back) and she said it was warm inside the cabinet with the equipment being on for no telling how long. I have emailed Rotel but no reply yet.

Hmm, do you have the pre plugged into a constant hot outlet and it's trigger turning on the rest of the outlets?

I know if the voltage goes above or below the levels the 1040 is capable of correcting, it will turn all outlets off. When the voltages normalize it will turn them back on. The pre-amp might default to 'on' when power is restored and then trigger everything else.

My pre is hooked into the pre outlet on the RLC. And, yes, the amp is triggered. Is there a way to change default on the pre so it does not turn on when voltage normalizes?

I don't believe you can change the default 'on' mode on the RC series. The RSP/RSX line does have the option to turn on to standby when power is applied.

Maybe you can change the 1040 to the wide-range option until the weather calms down. This should reduce the number of over/under conditions causing the reset.

does the RLC1040 have input and output for ethernet cable?
          by BlazeMaster
I looked at the specs on both the RLC1040/1080 and the pictures shows that the RLC1040 has conditioned in/outlet for either phone line or ethernet line. I'm more interested in the conditioning for the ethernet cable, but the specs state that only the RLC1080 has the ability to condition ethernet cables....

          Switched outlets
          by ajpoe
Ok, now that the subs are done, I'd like to maybe add a switched outlet. The BFD and K1 have to stay on all the time or I have to manually switch them off/on. I'd like to get something simple that will sequentially turn on the K1 and then the BFD (to avoid the pop) when I turn on my processor but I...

          Electrical Outlet
          by eboettn
          Hey all,

I'm installing a dedicated power circuit for my home theater. My question is: what is a good electrical outlet to use? I've heard I should use hospital grade outlets, but does this really matter? Is there really a difference between that and pro-grade outlets at say home depot?...

          RLC-1040 and RSP-1572... which outlet?
          by lotones
So I recently scored an RLC-1040, which as most of you know has outlets designated "Digital Filter", which the manual states is "for Digital Components (CD, DVD, DVR, CATV/SAT, Flat Panel Monitors, Hi-Def tuners, etc.)", outlets labeled "Analog Filter" "for analog-based...

          RCD-1072 won't turn on. Help!
          by Horacio
My CD player won't turn on. So sad!! And it's Saturday!

          Anyway, looking for tips/help.
I have the 1072 in my Rotel stereo system. Last night I unhooked it from the pre and hooked it to a headphone amp. Worked flawlessly, as usual. Now it won't turn on. Very strange.
