    RCD-1072 won't turn on. Help!

My CD player won't turn on. So sad!! And it's Saturday!

    Anyway, looking for tips/help.
I have the 1072 in my Rotel stereo system. Last night I unhooked it from the pre and hooked it to a headphone amp. Worked flawlessly, as usual. Now it won't turn on. Very strange.

I tried hooking it to a different wall outlet, with a different power cord, without the 12V trigger, and nothing. It just won't turn on. The dedicated power line hasn't tripped. The 1072 has no external fuse, though. Might it have an internal fuse? Any other hint?

    Thank you!!

I'd pop the top and look inside. I don't remember if there is a fuse in there for sure but I'd be surprised if there wasn't. Other than that it sounds like you've done all the troubleshooting that can be done.

Thank you Eric. You were correct: it does have a fuse inside, which was blown. Can't get a new one over the weekend, though, so will need to wait till Monday to see if it was just the fuse or there is more.

        RCD1072

Found some info on the new cd player.

Its from a german site called http://www.gute-anlage.de (translates into www.good-system.de), which is a site from the german distributor I think. They have the RCD1072 listed at 899 euro with the following text:

        RCD-1072 vs RACD-02
        by hired goon
        G'day,

I was in a hi-fi store the other day, and mentioned that I had the Rotel RCD-1072 CD player. The sales dude then mentioned that I "did not have Rotel's top of the range cd player", and proudly pointed to a RCD-02 CD player in the corner.

        I scoffed at this,...

        RDV1060 vs RCD 1072
        by Kemp
        Hi all,

Could anyone tell me the difference, if any, when playing a CD on the RDV1060 compared to the RCD1072. I was enquiring about the RCD1072 and the salesman advised me to rather go with the RDV 1060.

        Any comments will be appreciated.

        RB-991 keeps blowing main fuse
        by kingwilliam
        Hi all...

The problem: My RB-991 blew its main 12-amp fuse the other day (the fuse you can easily change from the back). I tried 10-amp fuses, but blew three in a row. No other components or speakers were hooked up to the amp. I unplugged the amp from the wall before swapping fuses....

        RCD1072 with Vintage Equipment
        by Italian
The RCD 1072 running through Rotel equipment sounds fantastic, wonderful. Have a question, I'm running vintage equipment:

        Conrad Johnson PV12L PreAmp
        Denon POA 1500 power Amp
        Polk Audio SDA 1B Speakers

I realize that ultimately I'll have to test drive it...
