    Added A RQ-970

A friend sold me his turntable (Project-rpm4) after upgrading to a much better setup. My amp doesn't have a phono section, so I bought a new Rotel RQ-970. Pushed the button to MC, plugged the ins and outs, and set it up to AUX. Was I surprized how well it sounded, for a $200 phono pre amp, this unit did just great. I've cleaned up a bunch of old LP's with a three bottle wash system and it's been fun spinning vinyl again. Has anybody else tried this unit.

Lets see.. a Rotel RQ-970 for $200 and a new Rega P1 turntable (cartridge included) for $350...I could have Lps spinning for a mere $550 US! Very tempting. Regards, Russ

When I set up my home theater system back in August of 1998 I added a Rotel RQ-970BX to be able to bring to life my old Onkyo turntable. I ran it through the AUX input of my Rotel RTC-970 and have never looked back.

I love the sound of the unit and listening to 2-channnel vinyl has been a real treat. I was surprised by the wonderful stereo sound field. It not only revived old memories but also provided a new listening experience. I love stereo.

        What LP are You Spinning?
        by wkhanna
I have been lusting over a good turntable since I bought my first ‘real’ system in 1977. It was an all Advent ensemble: speakers, cassette deck and integrated amp/receiver. I didn’t have $ for a TT at the time, (just starting college) and could only dream of getting one in the near future. Well,...

Of dogs, loyalty, turning three times before you lay down & a good Cuban.

John Broskie recently had some interesting comments on vinyl. As usual, I agree with much of what he has to say and respect everything he says. (John’s words are in italics, my comments are in normal text.)...

Rotel RSX 1055 and turntable connections
        by OakIris
I am adding a Teres turntable to my system - I have been out of the vinyl world for over 20 years but never could stand to get rid of my record collection. Now I'm ready to get back into the world of analog again.
I have a phono stage (Holfi Battriaa Signature) already, I'm still putting...

        Turntable > 1066 hookup?
        by paul2102
Is there any way I can get my turntable (you know, the gadget that plays those old vinyl LPs) to work with the 1066? I have tried going through video4 and tape inputs with no luck ( unless I am doing something wrong).

Anyone else have any success using a turntable?

        Thanks,...
