    HD-DVD problem with RSP-1068

Hi there guys, thought there may be some collective wisdom out there with a problem. I have the following AV gear:

    Rotel RSP-1068 pre-amp processor
Rotel RMB-1077 7 channel digital Icepower amplifier
    Toshiba HD-A1 HD-DVD player
Infocus X2 projector (yep, time to upgrade!)

I have connected my HDA1 through my Rotel pre-amp and find that it makes the projector unstable. I keep getting blue screens saying 'setting up picture' when connected through the processor. When I direct path the HD-A1 to the projector, I don't have this problem. It was my belief that the RSP-1068 was upgraded to 100mhz bandwidth for HD use, but it does introduce instability. Anyone else have this problem?

Did you remember to turn the PROGRESSIVE setting on for the input the HD-A1 is connected to? It's under the display setting in the menu.

Without it turned on you will loose sync every time the 1068 tries to display any information (volume adjustments, sound change, etc.)

Thank you very much. I will try this and let you know how I go. After tring it both ways, I did find that the image is slightly softer through the pre-amp (or is that beacuse I am using a geriatric 852x480 SD projector???)

Thanks again and I really appreciate having such a great forum to support owners of this awesome product. By the way, love the picture of your install. Gorgeous work! :T

Thanks for the compliments! In theory there should be no difference running through the 1068 or not. Even when it doesn't lose sync, having the progressive setting turned off could degrade the signal.

          by webcat1
Can any one help please. I have an infocus 4805 and when projecting there is a brownish line down the right side. Is this a lamp problem. I have taken the lamp out and cleaned as per instructions but this has not helped. Im lost as to what to do.

          Thanks

Hi, my 4 yrs old rotel rsp1068/rmb1075 suddenly drop the right front channel yesterday. I switch the RSP1068 pre-out right and left front connection and the problem will move from right to left. So it definitely mean it is not a cable or rmb1075 amp issue. I try power cycle, unplug the power and wait,...
