    RSP-1098 processor

I have a RSP-1098 processor I bought in 2003 its giving me problems.
The sound stops working everytime I use it ( I shut it off and put it on and starts working again) this happens in all of the inputs. Is there something I can do or I have to sent it in for repair since it is 5 years waranty. thanks

I would say that you should check all of your power connections or fuses.

If nothing is loose or bad then send it in for repair...

So visually it works, but no sound output; and a power cycle fixes it?

You can hook something to your multi-channel inputs (even just to the front inputs) and see if you get audio through those when it goes out. If you do, chances are it's your digital DSP board and could be swapped out. If still no sound, I would send it in.

Good point there, especially if he has it setup to do processing on the analog inputs.

the sound shuts off , I am able to reproduce the problem so I will change it
or maybe its a cold solder but I really think I have something here

Perhaps that's it, but don't expect Rotel to cover the warranty repair after you change it out. I wouldn't risk it while still under warranty.
