    RSP-1098 processor

I have a RSP-1098 processor I bought in 2003 its giving me problems.
The sound stops working everytime I use it ( I shut it off and put it on and starts working again) this happens in all of the inputs. Is there something I can do or I have to sent it in for repair since it is 5 years waranty. thanks

I would say that you should check all of your power connections or fuses.

If nothing is loose or bad then send it in for repair...

So visually it works, but no sound output; and a power cycle fixes it?

You can hook something to your multi-channel inputs (even just to the front inputs) and see if you get audio through those when it goes out. If you do, chances are it's your digital DSP board and could be swapped out. If still no sound, I would send it in.

Good point there, especially if he has it setup to do processing on the analog inputs.

          RSP-1098 processor

I think I found the the problem (the relay switch DG2SU 24VDC 125VA C DEC C822 CHINA ) if I push on it with my fingera
the sound shuts off , I am able to reproduce the problem so I will change it
or maybe its a cold solder but I really think I have something here

Perhaps that's it, but don't expect Rotel to cover the warranty repair after you change it out. I wouldn't risk it while still under warranty.

              Low/Dollar Receiver (as processor) options
              by tpremo55
I'm assembling iteration one of a home theater and am looking for a low dollar pre-pro. I've looked at the emotiva UMC-200, but the lack of analog video inputs makes it less interesting to me. Good pre-pros that meet my needs start around $1000 and I'd rather spend the money on a projector.

Review: Rotel RSP1098 versus Parasound Halo C1 (side by side) updated
              by misterdoggy
Well I have both the RSP1098 and C1 side by side and I have had the C1 a full week and have played CD, DVD, Satellite TV's and am ready to give a general comparison of strengths and weaknesses.

COMPARING the CD source in Stereo the sound on the Halo was was much richer than the Rotel....

              AVR and Processor Recommendations

I know this is one of those "Ask 100 people the same question, and you'll get 100 different answers" threads, but I am curious as to the input of the denizens here with regards to AVR and Processor recommendations. I've been doing research for a while, since my poor Denon Receiver is just...

Technical question about RSP1098 multi inputs
              by Kreyfish
A question for those familiar with the workings of the 1098.

From page 19 of the manual-:
"The MULTI inputs are analogue bypass inputs, passing signals directly through to the volume control and preamp outputs, bypassing all of the digital processing. The RSP-1098 provides...
