    12 v trigger RSP 976

I have the RSP 976 and RMB 1075. I am having trouble getting the 12 v trigger to work. I want the preamp to turn the amp off and on as it goes off and on. I have it going from processor 12v out to amp 12 v in with the toggle on the amp turned to on? What I am missing? Thanks.

The light on the amp will stay on in standby. You might want to get a volt meter and check the 976's trigger output.

If the lamp is off, the amp is off. You need to leave the front switch in the on position.

          Thanks again...but

Kevin, thanks a lot. I guess what I was asking is, if the light is on, how do I know it is "off." When I turn the processor/preamp off, the circuit protection lights go on on the amp and then turn off. I assume this means, it is shutting down even though power lamp is on. I know this is elementary, but my first use of these pieces.

Are you a Rotel rep. I notice you have a lot of helpful posts. Thanks again. Now I just need to figure out this OSD with the RSP-976. It seems like it needs a dedicated TV input to play (at least the way my Sony inputs are set up), so I have to switch TV inputs to get system status. Mike

Yup, the flashing of the protection lights is about the only sign you'll have it's going into standby.

I'm not a rep, just work for a dealer. The 976 doesn't have OSD over component video (most likely what you have most of). You'll need to run a s-video or composite cable to get the info.

              Advice on RSP 976
              by luszer
Has there been comparisons on the 976 vs RSP 1066. Has anyone traded up to the 1066 from the 976, if so, what were the improvements over the older model. Have there been any issue with the 976 that I should be aware about, also, likes and dislikes.
One additional question: Is anyone using an...

              RSP 976 or RSP 985?
              by Z Head
which processor is newer? how is the bass management on both? Which one has the multi channel input? Also is 400$ a fair price for the 976?

Thanks in advance from a new member.

Rotel RMB-1075 and Denon AVR-3808ci trigger problem
              by OakIris
I don't seem to be able to get my Denon receiver and Rotel power amp to play nice together when I attempt to use the 12V trigger to power up the amp. I have a Radio Shack 3.5 mono cable for the trigger cable. The cable goes from the Denon trigger out to the Rotel trigger in, as it should. When...

              Current draw from 12V-trigger (RSP-1066)?
              by Carrotman
As the subject says, does anyone know how much current I can draw from the 12V-trigger outputs of an RSP-1066?

              12 Volt Trigger Cable
              by shadow
What cable if any comes with the Rotel amps or preamps to trigger the amp on and off? If none is included with the amp or pre, where can you get an appropriate cable from the 1056 receiver to the Rotel amp? :P
